Greetings Fellow Countryman,
Take a break from spring cleaning and join your fellow Countrymen at our next luncheon meeting on Thursday May 8thth in the club’s Terrace Room at 12 noon.
Please let Norm know if you plan to attend by Saturday, May 3rd.
TALKIN’ TRASH is our topic for May
There will be a lot of trash talking at our May 8 meeting, but it won’t be of the disparaging kind. The topic of conversation will be the two solid waste landfills in Chester County and what the future holds in store. All of us have been encouraged to recycle paper, plastics, and metals to avoid filling our landfills with things that could be put to good use but do some of those “recyclables” eventually end up in the landfill anyway at extra cost to all of us?
To learn more about the subject we will hear from trash and recycling experts Bob Watts and Patti Lynn
Bob is the Executive Director of the Chester County Solid Waste Authority, which operates the Lanchester Landfill and Reclamation Center in Honey Brook. Bob is a Board-Certified Environmental Engineering Member. His knowledge, experience and insights have contributed to Lanchester’s success as a modern landfill since 2000.
Patti is Chester County’s Recycling Resources Manager. She has a master’s degree in teaching, and is a Certified Recycling Professional in PA. She has over 40 years’ experience in environmental health, education and recycling programs.
